Let me introduce myself! My name is Kevin Simmons and I became a follower of Jesus Christ at the age of ten. During my Senior year of high school, the Lord began to reveal His will for my life. After much prayer and seeking guidance I entered Christian ministry where I began serving in student ministry.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Religion in 2008 and Master of Arts in Religion in 2018, both from the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas. Upon graduating from high school, I had the privilege of serving as a bi-vocational student minister from 2003 to 2013 at First Baptist Church Neches, TX. God then opened a door for me to enter full time ministry. I served as Associate Pastor of Students and Missions at First Baptist Church, Spurger, TX from 2013 to 2018. In October 2018 the Lord led me and my family to serve here at FBC Clarksville as Associate Pastor of Students, Outreach and Missions.
It is my desire to lead students to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, see them follow Jesus in obedience through believer’s baptism, guard their hearts and teach them to live according to God’s Word, and equip them to make disciples among their peers and home.
My wife, Kara, and I were married on December 9, 2017. We welcomed our first son, Grant, into the world on May 9, 2019.
